Free Download mp3 of The Numero Group’s ‘History Of Chicago Music 1908 to 1980′. A record label whose main focus is to research and preserve obscure, but amazing, recorded material by artists who didn’t receive mainstream commercial success at the time of their material’s initial release.

Today’s free Music 1908-1980 Group, who, along with the City of Chicago’s Cultural Historian, Tim Samuelson, created a 3- hour-long mix of Chicago’s music. It spans from the earliest sourced recording, all the way up to 1980. The team presented the mix at Millennium Park’s Audio Picnic series. The 60 now available, and free to download. You can also stream the mix instead of downloading it.

The Numero Group described the mix as an “… aural journey of a city whose recorded output and legacy has influenced and changed the scope of the history of music around the world for centuries to come.” Visit NumeroGroup.Wordpress.com information on the project and for the free download.
